Ms. Silverberg is a principal of the firm and is one of its senior litigators.  She concentrates her practice in matters of complex business and real estate litigation, including a particular emphasis in matters involving community associations. With over twenty years of experience as a litigator, Ms. Silverberg is able to evaluate the relative strengths and weaknesses of her clients’ cases thoroughly and efficiently, thereby helping her clients to arrive at an early understanding of their situation, its possible options and outcomes, and estimated costs through resolution. In addition to handling cases from inception through appeal – and at all steps in-between – Ms. Silverberg enjoys mentoring attorneys at the beginning stages of their careers. In this regard, she was pleased to serve by request as a judge for the final exam of the trial advocacy class at Loyola University Chicago School of Law this past May.

Further augmenting her litigation practice, Ms. Silverberg has served as a consultant on legal issues relating to retention, management and discovery of electronic records, working with Fortune 500 companies on a wide range of matters, from analysis of electronic storage media to assess their satisfaction of Securities & Exchange Commission regulations, to formulation and review of companies’ document-retention policies.  Ms. Silverberg has also written white papers for use in education of the federal judiciary on the special issues presented in discovery of electronic records as well as for use in product marketing.

For Ms. Silverberg, litigation is the perfect marriage of the things she has always enjoyed:  information-gathering and rhetoric, coupled with the challenges of formulating a winning strategy and determining the best forum for dispute resolution. She is a tireless advocate for her clients, yet strives to maintain civility in the litigation process, which has contributed to her earning a preeminent “AV” rating from the lawyer directory Martindale-Hubbell.
