On May 2nd, 2008, Jordan I. Shifrin spoke at the Community Associations Institute's 57th National Conference and Exposition in Orlando Florida on the topic "COLLECTING SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS; WEATHERING THE STORM". Mr. Shifrin has been named to CAI's Distinguished Speaker's Bureau.
On April 20, 2008, Robert P. Nesbit appeared on the radio show "Uncommon Law" on WCPT 820 AM to speak about the current state of condominiums.
"Steps for Aligning Information Management and E-Discovery", co-written by Diane J. Silverberg, was published in the first quarter 2008 edition of the GRC Journal, a magazine devoted to issues of governance, risk and compliance in the management of people, process and technology.
Jordan I. Shifrin has been named Chairman of the Illinois Condominium Advisory Council by Governor Rod Blagojevich. The council was created by legislation enacted by the Illinois legislature in August 2007 and is charged with the responsibility of identifying issues facing condominium owners as well as study the Condominium Act and other laws in order to make recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly.

Robert P. Nesbit and Jordan I. Shifrin were among the speakers at the 2007 Real Estate Law Conference on October 4, 2007 . They were also named to an Advisory Board of the top Real Estate Attorneys in Illinois which guided Law Bulletin Seminars (a certified MCLE provider) relative to the agenda and topics for the conference.
David M. Bendoff's recent article on radon was published in the Ask The Expert column of Common Ground (November/December 2007). In addition, his article "Is Illinois Ready for On-Line Voting in Homeowner Association Elections", was published in the Winter 2007 edition of Common Interest.
On August 9, 2007, Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit participated in Race Judicata® 2007 Sprint for Justice, a 5K Run and Walk sponsored by and benefiting the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation (see a picture of the participants!).
John H. Bickley, Richard W. Hillsberg, Alan D. Kovitz, Robert P. Nesbit, Jordan I. Shifrin, Diane J. Silverberg, Gerald J. Smoller and Robert A. Sternberg were named Super Lawyers for 2007 by the Law & Politics Magazine and publishers of Chicago Magazine.
In 2007 the firm and its employees teamed with Lake County Haven, a long-term service and support center for homeless women and children in Lake County, to make the holiday season a little better for more than 40 people within 20 families by donating numerous gifts. In 2006, the firm and its employees provided gifts to individuals at The Staben House, a transitional housing facility for homeless women with children in Lake County (see 2006 gifts).
