KOVITZ SHIFRIN NESBIT IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE YEAR-LONG CELEBRATION OF ITS 25TH ANNIVERSARY!
As we celebrate our 25th Anniversary, we reflect on what has made Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit the firm it is today. Ultimately, it is the perfect blending of our dedicated lawyers and professional staff. To commemorate this momentous occasion, we honor all of our professionals who have made Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit more than just a work place, but a part of their lives as well.
Some of our client relationships extend back to the first day we opened our doors. These long-term relationships remain intact because our clients receive prompt personalized services delivered in accordance with high professional standards. We are here to provide legal experience, consultation and representation to each and every client as if they were the most important client in our office.
Being here for 25 years is just one way to show our commitment for the long term. Jordan I. Shifrin recently wrote an article in Condo Lifestyles looking back at the last 25 years of history with an emphasis on condominium and homeowner associations (see article).
ASSESSMENT COLLECTION NOW MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER.
In a tough economy, when people are trying to figure out how to balance their bills, who to pay, and who to defer, it is more important than ever for Associations to have a firm enforcement policy. First, Owners with legitimate financial hardships should be encouraged to come forth and enter into written payment plans before they get too far behind. Secondly, hard-core delinquents, particularly repeat offenders, should be turned over to the Association’s attorneys within 60 days. With the backlog in foreclosures these days, Units possessed by Association as the result of an eviction can be rented out a lot longer and the rents can be used to recoup unpaid assessments.
REMEMBER, ASSESSMENTS ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF AN ASSOCIATION!
