KSN attorney Anthony Lewis has concentrated his practice in the area of property tax and assessment law since 2014. With a primary focus on Chicago and Cook County, Anthony represents a wide array of clients ranging from small business owners to international corporations in ad valorem property tax assessment appeals for commercial, industrial, hotel, mixed-use, condominium and apartment buildings.
As a part of the KSN property tax appeals department, Anthony effectively handles appeals at the Assessor and Board of Review that significantly reduce KSN’s clients’ property tax burdens. He also diligently litigates cases at both the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board and Circuit Court of Cook County with successful appeals resulting in tens of millions of dollars in tax refunds.
With years of experience in an often-daunting Illinois property tax system, Anthony researches and reviews clients’ property characteristics and utilization to identify misclassifications or errors in the County records leading to substantial tax savings from correcting these issues. In addition, Anthony analyzes property owners’ tax liabilities and helps them plan the impact of current and future property use.
