Jordan Melvin concentrates his practice on matters of business law, real estate transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.
During his career, Jordan has served as the primary law clerk for a top creditors’ rights law firm, answering to as many as twelve attorneys responsible for cases across Illinois. He gained comprehensive understanding of the Illinois Mortgage Foreclosure Act and creditors’ rights law while honing skills useful in the general practice of commercial litigation.
Jordan has conducted trial preparation research in various practice areas, including: personal injury, commercial and business, estate planning, real estate, commercial landlord tenant law, bankruptcy, and intellectual property. He has drafted real estate contracts, leases, and complaints for personal injury clients.
Jordan earned his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University and is a graduate of DePaul College of Law. During his time at DePaul, Jordan was a staff editor and contributing writer to the DePaul Journal of Art, Technology & Intellectual Property Law (JATIP).
