The firm that grew to become KSN opened its doors on May 1, 1983. Founder Jordan Shifrin was inspired to do something unique – open a law practice that provided quality legal services to businesses and full-service representation of community associations.

In 1985, Jordan joined forces with several well-established, highly regarded Chicago attorneys and eventually became known as Kovitz Shifrin & Waitzman. Over the years, our law firm has changed its name a few times, recruited many talented lawyers, and continues to grow.

Managing partner Ryan Shpritz: “We started as a small suburban law firm and have grown new practice areas and offices in multiple states. The common thread is our people. We continue to work hard for our clients, we keep adding new goals, and we’ll continue to be ambitious.”

Today, KSN is staffed by an experienced and diverse team of attorneys, legal assistants, paralegals, and administrative staff. We have four office locations, serving hundreds of clients and thousands of communities throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Our attorneys are also licensed in Arizona, Florida, and Texas.

A Simple Philosophy that Works

We attribute our success to a simple philosophy that is instilled in all KSN team members, from junior associates to senior shareholders: “Return your phone calls and emails promptly, get your work done quickly, and be nice to people.”

Reflecting on the Past, Present, and Future

We are thankful for the thousands of clients who have placed their trust and support in our firm. We are proud to stand as industry leaders, continuously seeking to innovate and build on our reputation.

As we look forward to a bright future, KSN affirms our law firm’s commitment to achieve the best results for our clients.
